Seawolves Place Five On All-America East Women's Lacrosse Teams

Junior midfield Kaitlin Leggio (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and senior attack Diana Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.) highlighted Stony Brook's all-America East selections when they were named first-team all-conference selections at the annual awards banquet held on Thursday night at Boston University. Leggio has now been named to the first team in each of her first three years at Stony Brook while Caroleo was honored for the first time. [+]

Cahill Named America East Defender Of The Week

Sophomore goalie Mickey Cahill (Bay Shore, N.Y.) has been named America East Defender of the Week, the conference announced yesterday. Cahill made 21 saves in a pair of wins over Marist and Albany. She stopped 11 shots in a 22-11 win over Marist on Wednesday and made 10 saves in a 9-7 victory over Albany on Saturday. For the week, Cahill compiled a 7.33 goals against average and a .625 save percentage. [+]

Women's Lacrosse Tops Hofstra, 14-10 For First Ever Win Over Pride

With the score tied at 9, senior Diana Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.) scored back-to-back goals to give the Seawolves an 11-9 lead they would not relinquish as the Stony Brook women's lacrosse team topped Hofstra, 14-10 at LaValle Stadium on Tuesday afternoon on Senior Day. It was Stony Brook's first ever win over Hofstra in four tries as it concludes the 2008 season 9-6. Hofstra falls to 7-9. [+]
