School Record Falls at Penn Relays

April 25, 2008

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook's women's distance medley team of sophomore Laura Huet (Carrickmines, Ireland), sophomore Stephanie Vos (Apalachin, N.Y.), sophomore Lisa Voltaire (Stockholm, Sweden) and freshman Holly Van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand) set a new school record when they crossed in a time of 11:45.41 at the Penn Track and Field Relays Thursday. They broke the previous record, which was set in 2005, by almost 15 seconds.

Also competing for the Seawolves was sophomore Jessica Hampson (Smithtown, N.Y.) who qualified for the ECAC Championships when she finished the 5,000-meter in 16:58.32. This was Hampson's first time running in this event.

The Penn Relays continue on Friday in Philadelphia, Pa.
